-Trying- to get a better sense of overall shape from the start, so really not focussing on details at the moment.
Really rough-looking but with practise... well, I might get a little better. :S

Love the chunky nature of the paintwork, but i think perhaps if the piece was cropped closer to the character, the eye wouldn't be tempted to wander across to the white space.
